Philanthropy Is Important for Society Thinks Michael Staisil

The act of charity is one that has roots deep in human history. Humans are a species with unique capabilities and aspects of our minds that reward charity. Essentially, humans are social creatures and they have embedded reward systems in the mind for helping out anyone else, and it's something that continues to influence human nature to this day.

There are countless examples of people acting as heroes to help strangers. They are important to keep as images and as something striving towards as an individual, but there are other heroic actions people can take. Michael Staisil has always been someone to help out those in need, but that doesn't mean one has to be a hero. Michael Staisil expresses his desire to help others through philanthropy and the great influence a philanthropist can have on whatever issue he or she wants to tackle.

Some of the greatest modern philanthropists have done a great deal of good in the world. One of the first that comes to mind is Bill Gates. His work at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has helped millions throughout the world.  One of Michael Staisil’s major missions in life is to build a globally impactful philanthropic organization.  Philanthropy is important to society, and even a small effort can go a long way.

Michael Staisil is launching a new philanthropy platform which is aimed at bringing philanthropists together to do more with their resources. He also wants to get philanthropists involved more in actually volunteering at the places they fund and support. The stronger the connection they make with the causes they support, the more willing they are to continue their support and improve the world.  Michael Staisil successfully launched a program call HBS Shares which brings Harvard Business School alumni together with charitable organizations in their communities.  Michael Staisil hopes he can build on the success of this program with other charitable programs he is launching today.
